Molyvos and
the Medieval North

The northern coast in close quarters — Petra and its church on the rock, Molyvos with its castle above a cobbled harbor, Eftalou where the hot springs run into the sea. The road between them is short; the day on it isn't. Stone, salt, and warm water, more or less in that order.

Skala Sykamineas
& Hidden Gems

The northeast keeps to itself, and rewards anyone who follows it there. A working farm where olive oil and cheese come from the same hands, a monastery in Mantamados that's drawn pilgrims for nine centuries, and a fishing village at the end of the road where the boats still go out at dawn. More looking than driving.

A Day in Mytilene

The capital isn't large, but it punches above its weight. The Castle of Mytilene — one of the largest in the Mediterranean — holds the harbor at one end; Ermou Street, still a working market, runs the length of the old town. The Theophilos and Teriade museums hold work most island towns would build themselves around. Sappho watches the waterfront. End the day at Therma, where the hot springs meet the sea.

Petrified Forest
& West Lesvos

Twenty million years ago, a volcanic eruption turned an entire forest to stone. We climb first to Agios Hypselos Monastery — the view from up there stops you — then down to Sigri and the open-air park where the fossilized trunks still stand, and the museum that tells the story behind them. The day ends at Skala Eressos, a long unhurried beach at the western edge of the island.

The Ouzo Trail
to Plomari

A road from the mountains to the sea, and ouzo at the bottom of it. Agiasos first — cobbled, cool, deep in pine, with woodworkers and a famous church to keep it interesting. Then down to Plomari and the Barbayiannis distillery, where the recipe hasn't changed in more than a century. By late afternoon, anise and salt air make a kind of sense together.

Some days are best left unplanned until the morning. Tell us the kind of day you want — slow and coastal, deep into the mountains, food-first, photography-led — and we'll shape the route around it. The island is large, the roads are quiet, and a good day here usually finds itself.
